Our best value American Barn, features timber framed internal panels and all the usual American Barn functionality.
American Barns are becoming more and more popular as an alternative to exterior stabling.
Arranged around a central passageway, American Barns are fast becoming a favourite in working yards, such as Liveries and Riding Schools. American Barns tend to make for a better, more efficient working environment for horse and work force, keeping everything under one roof and are warm and dry during the winter but cool in the summer.
We offer two ranges of American Barns: Standard and Deluxe. Below are specifications and details of our Standard range which features timber framed internal panels with heavy duty metal grilles.

Wall Construction
Walls are built with 100mm x 50mm (4” x 2”) timber framing, at spaced at 600mm (2’) centres.
Wall Cladding
Selected high quality 16mm Shiplap (12mm finished size) boarding, pressure treated to ensure a long, maintenance-free life. Weatherboard is available as an option. All boarding is fixed with rust resisting nails.
Roof Construction
Purlins are 100mm x 50mm (4” x 2”) spaced at 450mm (18”) centres, which are held in place by joist holders on prefabricated trusses, then covered with black Onduline roof sheeting. A clear roof sheet is also included above each stall. Optional roof finishes include coloured Onduline, felt or felt tiles.
Internal Sections
Internal panels are timber framed using 100mm x 50mm (4” x 2”) and are kickboard lined to 1200mm (4’) and the upper section is constructed using 20mm hollow steel bars spaced at 75mm (3”) centres.
Doors
A side-hinged lower stable door 1320mm high, 1200mm wide, 70mm thick (52” x 48” x 2¾”) are fitted. Doors are faced with shiplap and kickboard is fitted to the rear. Anti-chewstrips are fitted to the top door surround and to the top of the door extending down 380mm (15”) at the front. All door fittings are heavy duty and galvanised, to include 600mm (24”) tee hinges, 200mm (8”) pad bolts, kickbolts and a cabin hook. A sliding door measuring 2400mm (8’) wide is fitted to the front of the building. American Barn top doors can be fitted to the rear of each stall as an option.
Windows
A choice of windows are available as optional extras.
Ventilation
2 x louvred ventilation grilles are fitted to each gable end.
Kickboards
External walls are lined with 18mm (¾”) high density, moisture resistant board to 1200mm (4’) high and can be fully lined to eaves if required.
Guttering
Half round, black guttering and down pipes are fitted to both sides of the building.
Height
To eaves, measures 2235mm (7’ 4”) and to ridge 3861mm (12’ 8”), including brickwork.
Barge Boards
All in pressure treated, prepared timber, fixed with rust resisting nails.
Timber Treatment
All timber is pressure treated (excluding roof purlins).
